As Tablet Sales Pick Up So Do Water Damage Incidents

Pc computers sales have dropped 23% last quarter according to Dells report in May. While Pc sales are slowing, tablet computers are selling like wildfire, mainly the iPad. iPads are predicted to sell around 47 million this year and that is out of the 70 million tablets sold worldwide. Tablet computers are definitely becoming more popular however experts agree they are in no way a replacement for the desktop PCs or notebooks. Consumers love the portability and ease of a tablet for checking e-mail, browsing the web, posting on social sites, getting directions, watching movies even presentations for business. Most likely you will not be using a tablet to write up a legal document, term paper, or balance your accounting books.
With tablet computers becoming more and more popular as well as very portable you are likely to have them with you as you enjoy the summer and attempt to escape from the summer heat. More likely than not a tablet or two is going to get wet somehow this summer. Whether you are at the pool, lake, river or beach, it is a risk that your tablet could go for a swim or be exposed to a splash. The hard thing when tablets get wet is not causing more damage by pressing the touch screen ( sending electrical current through the wet circuitry this could cause a short that can not be repaired). You want to turn it off as soon as possible(some tablets will turn themselves off if they get wet, if this is the case DO NOT TURN IT BACK ON) Next you need to wipe off the tablet as best as possible with a towel or whatever you have nearby. Get a wet electronic tablet emergency kit available at www.walmart.com or www.buy.com or www.dry-all.com place the tablet in the bag and zip it shut completely, wait 48 hours and your tablet will be dry and ready to go.
