Drying a wet cell phone with rice Urban legend

The most common solution found online to dry a wet cell phone is to place the phone in rice. This is actually not a solution at all since rice by nature is not an absorbent unless it is exposed to heat of 212 degrees Fahrenheit(boiling) and submerged in water ,this is why you have to boil water and then lower heat to get rice to cook .
